Update! McSpirit’s co-led proposal for Equine Complex named one of five finalists in President Benson’s Campus Challenge

Update (August 19, 2015) President Benson has announced five finalists in his Campus Challenge, including McSpirit's co-led Equine Proposal!  Presentations will occur in October.

A proposal for developing an equine complex at EKU, co-led by Sociologist Stephanie McSpirit and faculty from across the University, has been selected as one of 14 semi-finalists in President Benson’s Campus Challenge.  The proposed “Horses, Humans and Health Equine Complex” would be a multi-purpose facility serving students in a variety of programs, including EKU’s unique Animal Studies program, and would support the cultural heritage and economic development of our region and state.
